Driving the Machine without Mowing Note: Due to the nature of the power steering system, the steering wheel will not return to its original position after a turn has been completed. Important: Never stop on a green with the cutting unit reels operating as damage to the turf may result. Stopping on a wet green with the machine may leave marks or indentations from the wheels. 7.

Carefully pull the old filter out of the filter body and discard it. C. Insert the new filter by applying pressure to the outer rim of the element to seat it in the canister, checking the sealing end of the filter and the body.

Jump-Starting the Machine Drive System Maintenance If you need to jump start the machine, you can use the alternate-positive post (located on the starter solenoid) instead of the positive battery post (Figure 45). Adjusting the Transmission for Neutral If the machine creeps when the traction-control pedal is in the NEUTRAL position, adjust the neutral-return mechanism. 1. Block up under the frame so that one of the front wheels is off of the floor.

Adjusting the Transport Speed Obtaining the Maximum Transport Speed The traction pedal is adjusted for maximum-transport speed at the factory, but you may need to adjust it if the pedal reaches full stroke before it contacts the pedal stop, or if you want to a decrease the transport speed. To obtain the maximum-transport speed, put the functional control lever in the TRANSPORT position and press down on the traction pedal.
Adjusting the Mowing Speed Cooling System Maintenance The mow speed is set to 3.8 mph at the factory. Cleaning the Radiator Screen The forward moving speed can be adjusted from 0 to 8 km/h (0 to 5 mph). 1. 2. Loosen the jam nut on the trunnion bolt (Figure 48). To prevent the system from overheating, keep the radiator screen and radiator clean. Check and clean the screen and radiator daily or, if necessary, hourly. Clean these components more frequently in dusty, dirty conditions.

Diagnostics System Note: The system stores only the three most recent fault codes. For a list of error codes, refer to your Authorized Distributor or the Service Manual. Diagnosing the Service Indicator Light The service indicator light illuminates in the event of a fault in the machine. When this light is on, you can access the computer codes to diagnose the problem by entering diagnostic mode.
Storage If you wish to store the machine for a long period of time, the following steps should be performed prior to storage: 1. Remove accumulations of dirt and old grass clippings. Sharpen the reels and bedknives, if necessary; refer to the Cutting Unit Operator's Manual. Use a rust preventive on bedknives and reel blades. Grease and oil all lubrication points. 2. Block up the wheels to remove any weight on the tires. 3.
