Situation:
Visual characteristics have been designed into the bedbars used in Flex 21 cutting
units and newer DPA applications. Attached to this bulletin, a diagram indicates the
visual differences. In some cutting applications, the bedbar may have been
changed to address cutting after appearance concerns. This bulletin identifies the
differentiating features designed into these parts for the purpose of easy visual
recognition.
Aggressive Bedbar (99-3794-03) used in Flex 21 cutting units built between 2001
and 2006 (serial numbers 210000101-260009999) were painted red until serial
270009999. After that serial number, all factory installed Aggressive Bedbars are
painted black. A crescent shaped portion of the left ear was removed to further
visually differentiate it from the Standard Bedbar. (see attached diagram)
Standard Bedbar (106-2648-01) used in all DPA cutting unit applications
(230000101 & newer) are painted Toro red. A drill point hole appears in all right ear
locations in factory installed bedbars prior to 280000101. All Standard Bedbars
produced in 2008 and newer will not have this drill point feature. All Standard
Bedbars produced from 2008 and up will be identified solely by red paint.
The last two digits in the part number indicate the paint code color - in this example,
-01 indicates Toro Red and -03 signifies black paint.
Please contact your local Toro Commercial Products Distributor for additional
information and to order these replacement parts.
