DisassemblingtheReelMotor
1.Plugthemotorportsandcleantheoutsideofthemotorthoroughly.After
cleaningthemotor,removetheplugsanddrainanyuidoutofthemotor.

forassemblypurposes;refertoFigure72.
IMPORTANT
Preventdamagewhenclampingthemotorintoavise;useavise
withsoftjawsandclamponthefrontangeonly.
3.Clampthefrontangeofthemotorinavisewithsoftjawswiththeshaft
enddown.
4.Loosenthecapscrewsfromthebody.
5.Removethemotorfromthevise.Turnthemotorsothattheshaftendis
facingdownandremovethecapscrews.
6.Carefullyremovethebodybyliftingthebodystraightup.Makesuretherear
wearplateremainsonthedriveandidlergearshafts.Removeanddiscard
theO–ringfromthebody.Locateandretrievethedowelpins.
IMPORTANT
Recordthepositionoftheopenandclosedsideofthewearplates
beforeremoving.Identifythewearplates(innerandouter,drivegear
andidlergear)withamarkerforproperassembly.
Marktherelativepositionsofthegearteethsotheycanbe
reassembledinthesame(mated)position.Donottouchthegear
surfacesasresidueonhandsmaybecorrosivetothegearnish.
7.Carefullydisassembletheinnerwearplate,theidlergear,thedrivegearand
theouterwearplate.
8.Removeanddiscardtheback−upgasketsandthepressuresealsfromthe
wearplates.
9.Turnthefrontangeover,withthesealsideup.
