CAUTION
Contactwiththereelorothercuttingunitpartscanresultinpersonal
injury.Useheavygloveswhenhandlingthecuttingreel.
ReplacingtheRollerBrushElement
1.Removethecuttingunitfromthemachineandplaceitonalevelwork
surface.
2.Loosenthesetscrewinthebearinglockingcollaronrightsideofbrushshaft.
3.Usingtheblindholeinthebearinglockingcollarasanimpactpoint,unlock
thecollarbystrikingitwithapunchintheoppositedirectionofbrushrotation.
4.RemovetheRHbrushsupport,bearingandlockingcollar.
5.Removethebrushelementfromtheshaft.
6.Slidethenewbrushelementontotheshaftwhilerotatingthebrush.
7.InstalltheJ-boltsandlocknutsmakingsurethethreadedportionofthe
J-boltsareinstalledontheoutsideofthebrushelement.Tightenthelock
nutsfrom2.3to2.8N∙m(20to25in-lb).
8.InstalltheRHbearingsupport.
9.Tightenthebearinglockingcollar.
A.Slidethelockingcollarsoutwardontothebearingcollars.Rotatethe
lockingcollarsbyhandinthedirectionofnormalbrushrotationuntilthe
collarsaretightontheshaft.
B.Usingtheblindholeinthebearinglockingcollarasanimpactpoint,lock
thecollarbystrikingitwithapunchinthenormaldirectionofthebrush
rotation.
C.Tightenthesetscrewinthelockingcollar.
IMPORTANT
Ifbrushtorollercontactisincorrect,brushoperationwillbe
adverselyaffected.
10.Checkthattherollerbrushisparalleltotherearrollerwithin0.25mm(0.010
inch)clearancetolightcontact.Adjusttherollersupportordriveplate
asnecessary.
ReplacingtheDriveBelt
1.Removethecover.
2.Loosentheidlerpulleyassemblyfromthedriveplatetorelievethebelt
tension.
3.Replacethedrivebeltmakingsurethatthebeltandthepulleygroovesare
alignedandthebeltiscenteredinthepulleys.
4.Pushdownontheidlerpulleyandsecureittothedriveplate.Makesure
thecoverplate(item7inFigure132)ispositionedtopreventdebrisfrom
enteringthedrivearea.
