Storage
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,shutoffthemachine,andremove
thekey.
2.Cleandirtandgrimefromtheentiremachine,
includingtheoutsideofthemotorhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withmilddetergentandwater.Donotuse
highpressurewatertowashthemachine.
Pressurewashingmaydamagetheelectrical
systemorwashawaynecessarygreaseat
frictionpoints.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,
especiallynearthecontrolpanel,lights,
motor,andthebattery.
3.Inspectthebrakes;refertoInspectingthe
Brakes(page46).
4.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingthe
Machine(page31).
5.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe
TirePressure(page20).
6.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatisdamaged.
7.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.

8.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageor
storagearea.
9.Removethekeyandputitinasafeplaceoutof
thereachofchildren.
10.Coverthemachinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.
BatteryStorage
1.Chargethebatteriesfullybeforeplacingthe
machineintostorage;refertoChargingthe
Batteries(page36).Plugthechargerintoawall
outletwhilethemachineandbatteriesarein
storage.Leavethechargerpluggedintoawall
outletandchargingreceptacleduringstorage
toensurethatthebatteriesstaychargedand
donotfreeze;otherwise,chargethebatteries
monthlyataminimum.
2.Pluginthechargerduringstoragetomaintain
fullbatterylife.
Important:Ifthemachinecannotbe
pluggedinduringstorage,fullychargethe
batteriesatleastonceamonth.Thebatteries
self-dischargeoverlongperiodsoftime,
whichmaydamagethebatteriestothepoint
ofbeingunusable,evenifthebatteriesare
new.
3.Afterfullychargingthebatteries,llthebatteries
withdistilledordeionizedwaterbeforestoring;
refertoAddingDistilledorDeionizedWaterto
theBatteries(page38).
