Batteries
Toreducethepotentialforre,keepthebatteries
andmotorareafreeofexcessivegrease,grass,
leaves,andaccumulationofdirt.
Alwaysdisconnectthebatterycablesbefore
servicinganyelectricalcomponents;referto
DisconnectingtheBatteries(page37).
Note:Disconnectingallofthebatterycables
isolatespowerfromtheelectricalsystem.
Batteryelectrolytecontainssulfuricacid.Sulfuric
acidproduceshydrogengas,which,intheright
proportions,isexplosive.
Alwaysservice,store,andchargethemachine
inawell-ventilatedarea.
Keepsparksandopenamesawayfromthe
batteries.
Donotsmokenearthebatteries.
Neveruseanopenametocheckthelevelor
leakageofbatteryelectrolyte.
Usecautionwhenhandlingandworkingaround
electrolyte.Thesulfuricacidinelectrolytecanburn
skinanddamageclothing.Furthermore,itcanbe
emittedasagasthatcandamageyourlungs.
Wearpropereye,hand,andfaceprotection.
Donotleanoverthebatteriesatanytime.
Avoidbreathinginbatteryfumes.
Fillthebatterieswherecleanwaterisalways
availableforushingtheskin.
Ifyougetelectrolyteonyourskinoreyes,ush
theaffectedareafor20minuteswithclean
water.Removeacid-soakedclothing.Seek
medicalattentionimmediately.
Keepchildrenandpetsawayfromthebatteries
andelectrolyte.
Electrolyteisverypoisonous.
Donotdrinktheelectrolyte.
Ifelectrolytehasbeenswallowed,andthe
personisconscious,havethemdrinklarge
quantitiesofwaterimmediatelytodilutethe
electrolyte.
Donotattempttomakethemvomit.
CallPoisonControlandgetmedicalattention
immediately.
Whennotllingthebatteries,keepthebattery
ventcapstightonthebatteries.Neveroperate
themachineifanyoftheventcapsaremissingor
damaged.
Whenremovingorinstallingthebatteries,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthemachine.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetweenthe
batteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthemachine.
Removealljewelryandwatchesbeforeservicing
thebatteries.
Donotcheckabatterychargebyplacingametal
objectacrosstheposts.Thiscausessparks,
whichcancauseanexplosion.
Alwayskeepthebatteryretainersinplaceto
protectandsecurethebatteries.
Readandunderstandthecharginginstructions
beforechargingthebatteries;refertoCharging
theBatteries(page35).Also,takethefollowing
precautionsandactionswhenchargingthe
batteries:
TurnthemachinekeyswitchtoOFFbefore
connectingthechargertoapowersource.
Useonlythebatterychargersuppliedwiththe
machinetochargethebatteries.
Donotchargeadamagedorfrozenbattery.
AlwaysunplugtheACpowercordfromthe
poweroutletbeforeunpluggingitfromthe
machinechargingreceptacletoavoidsparks.
Ifabatterygetshotwhilecharging,begins
emittinglargeamountsofgases,orspews
electrolyte,immediatelydisconnectthecharger
powercordfromthepoweroutlet.Havethe
machineservicedbyanAuthorizedService
Dealerbeforeusingitagain.
Maintenance
Beforeservicingormakingadjustmentstothe
machine,parkthemachineonalevelsurface,
engagetheparkingbrake,shutoffthemachine,
andremovethekeytopreventaccidentalstarting
ofthemachine.
Neverworkunderaraisedbedwithoutensuring
thattheproprodisfullyseatedinthedetentslot.
Tomakesurethattheentiremachineisingood
condition,keepallnuts,bolts,andscrewsproperly
tightened.
Ifthemachinemustberunningtoperforma
maintenanceadjustment,keephands,feet,
clothing,andanypartsofthebodyawayfromthe
batteriesandanymovingparts.Keepeveryone
away.
Ifmajorrepairsareeverneededorassistanceis
required,contactanAuthorizedT oroDistributor.
Toensureoptimumperformanceandsafety,
alwayspurchasegenuineT ororeplacement
partsandaccessories.Replacementpartsand
accessoriesmadebyothermanufacturerscould
bedangerous.Alteringthismachineinany
mannermayaffecttheoperationofthemachine,
performance,durabilityoritsusemayresultin
