Note:Changetheoilmorefrequentlywhenoperating
conditionsareextremelydustyorsandy.
Note:Disposeoftheusedengineoilandoillterata
certiedrecyclingcenter.
1.Startthemachineandlettheenginerunfora
fewminutes.
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.
3.Engagetheparkingbrake.
4.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
5.Raisethecargobedandsecureitwiththe
proprod;refertoRaisingtheCargoBedtothe
ServicePosition(page22).
6.ChangetheengineoilasshowninFigure42.

Important:Youmustreplaceacracked,fouled,
dirty,ormalfunctioningsparkplug.Donot
sand-blast,scrape,orcleanelectrodesbyusing
awirebrushbecausegritmayeventuallyrelease
fromtheplugandfallintothecylinder.Theresult
isusuallyadamagedengine.
Note:Thesparkplugusuallylastsalongtime;
however,theplugshouldberemovedandchecked
whenevertheenginemalfunctions.
1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugsothat
foreignmattercannotfallintothecylinderwhen
youremovethesparkplug.
2.Pullthewireofftheterminalofthesparkplug.
3.Removetheplugfromthecylinderhead.
4.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatorto
ensurethatthereisnodamage(Figure43).
Note:Donotuseadamagedorwornspark
plug.Replaceitwithanewsparkplugofthe
speciedtype.
