1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe

parkingbrake,shutoffthemachine,removethe

key,andraisecargobed;RaisingtheCargoBed

totheDumpPosition(page18).

2.Chargethebatteriesuntilafullchargeis

achieved;refertoChargingtheBatteries(page

34).

3.Raisetheseatassemblytoaccessthebatteries;

refertoRemovingtheBenchCushion(page28).

4.ConnectyourT orowaterhandpumptothe

water-llport(Figure37).

Important:Donotoverllthebattery.

Electrolytewilloverowontootherparts

ofthemachineandseverecorrosionand

deteriorationmayresult.Also,overllingthe

batterymayreducethelifeofthebattery.

ChangingtheBatteries

Whenthemachinebeginstoloseoperatingrange

orwhenthelengthoftimetodischargeorcharge

thebatteryissignicantlyreduced,thebatteriesare

probablywearingandlosingtheirabilitytoholda

charge.T akethemachinetoanAuthorizedService

Dealerandhavethemtestthebatteriestodetermine

whetherthebatteriesneedtobereplaced.Thedealer

canthenreplacethebatteriesforyou.Ifyouwish

toreplacethebatteriesyourself,usethefollowing

procedures:

DisconnectingtheBatteries

1.Raisethecargobed,turnthekeyswitchtothe

OFFposition,andremovethekey.

2.Disconnectthemainnegative-batterycable

(black)thatconnectsthebankofbatteriestothe

groundpointofthemachine(Figure38).

Note:Themainbatterycablesarelongwhen

comparedtobattery-interconnectcables.

ReplacingtheBatteries

1.Removeallofthebattery-interconnectcables

fromthebatteries.

2.Removethebatteryretainerslocatedbetween

thebatteries.

3.Removeallofthebatteriesandrecyclethem

accordingtoyourlocalcodes.

4.Assemblenewbatteriesintothemachineatthe

locationsfromwhereyouremovedbatteriesin

step3.

Note:Payattentiontothebatterypolaritywhen

installingthenewbatteries(Figure38).

5.Installthebatteryretainersandtightenthenuts

untiltheretainersecurelygripsthebatteries.

6.Connectthebatteriestogetherasshownin

Figure38withthebattery-interconnectcables

thatyouremovedinstep1.
