AfterOperationSafety
•Parkthemachineonarm,levelsurface.Avoid
softgroundbecausethejackstandcouldsinkand
causethemachinetotipover.
•Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.Waitfor
allmovementtostopandallowthemachineto
coolbeforeadjustingorcleaningit.
•Donotdisconnectthemachinefromthetraction
unitonhillsorwithoutengagingthefrontjack.
•Ensurethatthejackstandandthehopperare
inthedownpositionbeforedisconnectingthe
machine.
•Whendisconnectingthemachine,alwayschock
thewheelstopreventmovement.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachine
inanyenclosure.
•Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheaterorotherappliance.
•Keepallpartsofthemachineingoodworking
conditionandallhardwaretightened.
•Replaceallworn,damaged,ormissingdecals.
InspectingandCleaningUp
afterOperation
Aftersweeping,thoroughlycleanandwashthe
machine.Airoutthedryhopper.Aftercleaning,
inspectthemachineforpossibledamagetothe
mechanicalcomponentsandblower.
Important:Whentowingthemachineforlong
distances,fastenthegaugewheelarmsecurely
tothemachineframewiththetransporthooks.
Allowingthegaugewheelarmtofalltotheground
maydamagethemachine.
OperatingTips
General
•Beforestartingtosweep,surveyareatodetermine
thebestdirectiontosweep.
Note:T omaintainastraightlinewhensweeping,
sightofanobjectintheforeground.
•Alwaystrytomakealong,continuousrunwitha
slightoverlaponthereturnrun.
•Onturfareas,theextipreelpicksuptwigs,
clippings,leaves,pineneedlesandcones,small
debris(beveragecans,smallbottles,paperplates,
etc.).
•Theraketeetharemadeofexiblenylonand
easilychanged.Topreventdamage,therakeis
protectedfromsolidobstructionsbyspringaction.
Thenylonteethdonotmarbronze,stonemarkers,
sidewalksorpavement.
•Becauseofitsuniquedesign,themachinealso
groomstheturf.Theextipreelcombsthrough
andliftsgrassforauniformcutwhenmowed.Asit
cleans,thelightscarifyingactionincreaseswater
andpesticidepenetration,thusreducingtheneed
forrenovation.

usingthethatchingreeltopreventdamaging
theturf.
