handsafterhandling.
1.Unlatchandopenthebatterycompartment
cover.
2.Removethebatteryfromthebattery
compartment.
3.Cleanthetopofthebatteryandremovethevent
caps.
4.Carefullylleachcellwithelectrolyteuntilthe
electrolyteisuptothellline.
Useonlyelectrolyte(1.260specicgravity)to
llthebatteryinitially.
Important:Donotaddelectrolytewhilethe
batteryisinthemachine.Youcouldspillit,
causingcorrosion.
DANGER
Batteryelectrolytecontainssulfuricacid,
whichisadeadlypoisonandcauses
severeburns.
Donotdrinkelectrolyteandavoid
contactwithskin,eyes,orclothing.
Wearsafetyglassestoshieldyour
eyesandrubberglovestoprotect
yourhands.
Fillthebatterywherecleanwateris
alwaysavailableforushingtheskin.
5.Connecta3to4Abatterychargertothebattery
posts.Chargethebatteryatarateof3to4Afor
4to8hours.
6.Removethellercapsandslowlyaddelectrolyte
toeachcelluntilthelevelisuptothellline.
Installthellercaps.
Important:Donotoverllthebattery.
Electrolytewilloverowontootherparts
ofthemachineandseverecorrosionand
deteriorationwillresult.
WARNING
Chargingthebatteryproducesgasses
thatcanexplode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeep
sparksandamesawayfromthebattery.
7.Whenthebatteryischarged,disconnectthe
chargerfromtheelectricaloutletandbattery
posts.Allowthebatterytositfor5to10minutes
beforeproceedingtothenextstep.
