shieldyoureyesandrubberglovestoprotect
yourhands.
•Fillthebatterywherecleanwaterisalways
availableforushingtheskin.
Thebatteryelectrolytelevelmustbeproperlymaintainedand
thetopofthebatterykeptclean.Ifthemachineisstoredina
locationwheretemperaturesareextremelyhigh,thebattery
willrundownmorerapidlythanifthemachineisstoredin
alocationwheretemperaturesarecool.
Checktheelectrolytelevelevery25operatinghoursor,if
machineisinstorage,every30days.
Maintainthecelllevelwithdistilledordemineralizedwater.
Donotllthecellsabovethebottomofthesplitringinside
eachcell.
Keepthetopofthebatterycleanbywashingitperiodically
withabrushdippedinammoniaorbicarbonateofsoda
solution.Flushthetopsurfacewithwateraftercleaning.Do
notremovethellcapswhilecleaning.
Thebatterycablesmustbetightontheterminalstoprovide
goodelectricalcontact.
WARNING
Incorrectbatterycableroutingcoulddamagethe
machineandcablescausingsparks.Sparkscan
causethebatterygassestoexplode,resultingin
personalinjury.
•Always
disconnect thenegative(black)battery
cablebeforedisconnectingthepositive(red)
cable.
•Always
connect thepositive(red)batterycable
beforeconnectingthenegative(black)cable.
Ifcorrosionoccursattheterminals,disconnectthecables
(negative(–)cablerst)andscrapeclampsandterminals
separately.Reconnectthecables(positive(+)cablerst)and
coattheterminalswithpetroleumjelly.
WARNING
Batteryterminalsormetaltoolscouldshortagainst
metaltractorcomponentscausingsparks.Sparks
cancausethebatterygassestoexplode,resulting
inpersonalinjury.
•Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthemachine.
•Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetween
thebatteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthe
machine.
