CheckingtheInterlock
System
CAUTION
Safetyinterlockswitchesareforyour
protection.Disconnectedormalfunctioning
safetyinterlockswitchescouldallowthe
machinetooperateinanunsafemannerand
maycausepersonalinjury.
•Donotdisconnectthesafetyinterlock
switches.
•Checktheoperationoftheswitchesdaily
toensurethattheinterlocksystemis
operatingcorrectly.
•Ifaswitchismalfunctioning,replaceit
beforeyouoperatethemachine.
Thesafetyinterlocksystemhasthefollowing
functions:
•Itpreventsthebrushfromrotatingwhenthe
hopperisintheraisedposition.
•Itpreventsthehopperfrombeingdumpedwhen
themachineisintheoffsetposition.
•Anaudiblealarmsoundswhendumpingthe
hopper.Donotmovethetowingvehiclewhen
dumpingthehopper.
OperatingTips
•Beforestartingtosweep,surveytheareato
determinethebestdirectiontosweep.
Note:Tomaintainastraightlinewhensweeping,
sightanobjectinfrontofyouinthedistance.
•Alwaystrytomakealong,continuousrunwitha
slightoverlaponthereturnrun.
•Onturfareas,thebrushpicksupturfcores,twigs,
clippings,leaves,pineneedlesandcones,and
smalldebris.
•Themachinealsogroomstheturf.Thebrush
combsthroughandliftsthegrassforauniform
cutwhenmowed.Asitcleans,thelightscarifying
actionincreaseswaterandpesticidepenetration,
thusreducingtheneedforrenovation.
Important:Donotmakesharpturnswhen
usingthemachineasdamagetotheturfmay
occur.
•Whenthehopperisfull,themachinenolonger
picksupdebrisasefciently,leavingorthrowing
materialbackontotheground.
DumpingtheHopper
DANGER
Tipoverorelectricalshockcouldcause
seriousinjuryordeath.
•Neverdumpthehopperonaslope.Always
dumpthehopperonlevelground.
•Dumponlyinanareaclearofoverhead
wiresandotherobstructions.
Important:Makesurethatthemachineissecured
tothetowingvehiclehitchwiththehitchpinand
theclevispinduringthedumpingoperation.
Important:Ensurethatthemachineisdirectly
behindthetowingvehicleandintransportheight
beforethedumpsequencecanbeactivated.
1.Placethemachineonalevelsurfaceandmake
surethatitisinthetransportpositionbefore
dumping.
2.Pressthehopper-dumpbuttonfor1second,
releasethebuttonfor1second,andpressthe
hopperdumpbuttonagain(Figure28).
Note:Themachinedoesnotrespondifyou
pressthehopperdumpbuttontooquickly.
