KeySwitch
Thekeyswitchislocatedtotheleftofthe
parking-brakeleveronthecontrolpanel(Figure6).
Thekeyswitchhas3positions:OFF,ON,andSTART.
Thereare2modesofstartingthemachine:
•PedalStart—turnthekeyswitchtotheON
position,pressdowntheacceleratorpedal,then
releaseyourfootfromtheacceleratorpedal.
Note:Whenyouremoveyourfootfromthe
acceleratorpedal,theengineshutsoff.
•KeyStart—turnthekeyswitchtotheSTART
positionandtheengineremainsonuntilthekeyis
turnedtotheOFFposition.
Note:WhileintheSTARTposition,youcanengage
theparkingbrakeandworkwhilethebatteryholds
acharge.
Note:IfyouturnthekeyswitchtotheSTARTposition,
theenginecranksuntilitstarts.Iftheenginecranks
formorethan10seconds,returntotheOFFposition,
anddeterminetheissue(e.g.,thechokecontrols
needstobeengaged,checktheaircleanerfor
restrictions,ensurethatthefueltankisfull,thespark
isbad,etc.)beforestartingthemachineagain.
Parking-BrakeLever
Theparking-brakeleverislocatedonthecontrol
panel(Figure6).
Whenevertheengineisshutoff,engagetheparking
braketopreventthemachinefromaccidentalmoving.
Ifthemachineisparkedonasteepgrade,makesure
thatyouengagetheparkingbrake.
Toengagetheparkingbrake,pulltheparking-brake
levertowardyou(Figure7).
