ifnecessary.

AirGap:0.76mm(0.03inch)
Important:Acracked,fouled,dirty,or
malfunctioningsparkplugmustbereplaced.Do
notsand-blast,scrape,orcleanelectrodesby
usingawirebrushbecausegritmayeventually
releasefromtheplugandfallintothecylinder.
Theresultisusuallyadamagedengine.
Note:Thesparkplugusuallylastsalongtime;
however,theplugshouldberemovedandchecked
whenevertheenginemalfunctions.
1.Cleantheareaaroundthesparkplugsothat
foreignmattercannotfallintothecylinderwhen
thesparkplugisremoved.
2.Pullthewireofftheterminalofthesparkplug.
3.Removetheplugfromthecylinderhead.
4.Checktheconditionofthesideelectrode,center
electrode,andcenterelectrodeinsulatorto
ensurethatthereisnodamage(Figure41).
Note:Donotuseadamagedorwornspark
plug.Replaceitwithanewsparkplugofthe
speciedtype.
