StoppingtheMachine
Important:Whenstoppingthemachineon
anincline,usetheservicebrakestostopthe
machineandengagetheparkingbraketoholdthe
machineinplace.Usingtheacceleratortostall
themachineonthehillcanoverheatthemotoror
drainthebatteries.
1.Removeyourfootfromtheacceleratorpedal.
2.Slowlypressthebrakepedaltoapplytheservice
brakesuntilthemachinecomestoacomplete
stop.
Note:Thestoppingdistancemayvary
dependingonthemachineloadandspeed.
ParkingtheMachine
1.Stopthemachineusingtheservicebrakesby
pressingandholdingthebrakepedal.
2.Engagetheparkingbrakebypullingthe
parking-brakelevertowardyou.
3.RotatethekeycounterclockwisetotheOFF
position.
4.Removethekey.
BreakinginaNewMachine
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst100hours—Perform
thebreakinginanewmachine
guidelines.
Performthebreakinginanewmachineguidelines
toprovideproperperformanceandlonglifeforthe
machine.
Checkthebrakeuid,transaxleuid,andthe
waterlevelinthebatteriesregularly.
Avoidhardbrakingsituationsfortherstseveral
hoursofnewmachinebreak-inoperation.New
brakeliningsmaynotbeatoptimumperformance
untilseveralhoursofusehascausedthebrakes
tobecomeburnished(broken-in).
RefertoMaintenance(page28)foranyspecial
lowhourchecks.
Checkthefrontsuspensionpositioningandadjust
itifnecessary.
LoadingtheCargoBox
Usethefollowingguidelineswhenloadingthecargo
boxandoperatingthemachine:
Observetheweightcapacityofthemachineand
limittheweightoftheloadthatyoucarryinthe
cargoboxasdescribedinSpecications(page
18)andonthegrossvehicleweighttagofthe
machine.
Note:Theloadratingisspeciedformachine
operationonalevelsurfaceonly.
Reducetheweightoftheloadthatyoucarryin
thecargoboxwhenoperatingthemachineonhills
androughterrain.
Reducetheweightoftheloadthatyoucarrywhen
thematerialsaretall(andhaveahighcenterof
gravity),suchasastackofbricks,landscaping
timbers,orfertilizerbags.Distributetheloadas
lowaspossible,makingsurethattheloaddoes
notreduceyourabilitytoseebehindthemachine
whenoperatingit.

follows:
Evenlypositiontheweightinthecargobox
fromsidetoside.
Important:Tippingoverismorelikelyto
occurifthecargoboxisloadedto1side.
Evenlypositiontheweightinthecargobox
fromfronttoback.
Important:Lossofsteeringcontrolorthe
machinemaytipoverifyoupositionthe
loadbehindtherearaxleandthetraction
onthefronttiresisreduced.
Useextracautionwhentransportingoversized
loadsinthecargobox,particularlywhenyou
cannotcenterthewightoftheoversizeloadtothe
cargobox.
Wheneverpossible,securetheloadbybindingit
tothecargoboxsoitdoesnotshift.
Whentransportingliquidinalargetank(such
asasprayertank),usecautionwhendriving
themachineuphillordownhill,whensuddenly
changingspeedorstopping,orwhendrivingover
toughsurfaces.
