Electrolytewilloverowontootherparts

deteriorationmayresult.Also,overllingthe
batterymayreducethelifeofthebattery.
ChangingtheBatteries
Whenthemachinebeginstoloseoperatingrange
orwhenthelengthoftimetodischargeorcharge
thebatteryissignicantlyreduced,thebatteriesare
probablywearingandlosingtheirabilitytoholda
charge.TakethemachinetoanAuthorizedService
Dealerandhavethemtestthebatteriestodetermine
whetherthebatteriesneedtobereplaced.Thedealer
canthenreplacethebatteriesforyou.Ifyouwish
toreplacethebatteriesyourself,usethefollowing
procedures:
DisconnectingtheBatteries
1.Raisethecargobed,turnthekeyswitchtothe
OFFposition,andremovethekey.
2.Disconnectthemainnegative-batterycable
(black)thatconnectsthebankofbatteriestothe
groundpointofthemachine(Figure39).
Note:Themainbatterycablesarelongwhen
comparedtobattery-interconnectcables.
