1 Preparing the Machine No Parts Required Procedure 1. Park the machine on a level surface. 2. Engage the parking brake. 3. Shut off the engine and remove the key.

Procedure 4 1. Installing the Steel Bed Sides Insert the right bed side assembly and left bed side assembly into the stake pockets on the extended bed (Figure 2).

6. 3. Remove the bed side assemblies. 4. Using the marked locations, drill 10 holes (5/16 inch) into the extended bed (Figure 4). Install the corner bracket to the bed side assemblies using 2 flange-head bolts (5/16 x 3/4 inch), 2 flange nuts (5/16 inch), 1 carriage bolt (1/4 x 3/4 inch), and 1 locknut (1/4 inch) on each side (Figure 5). Important: If installing on a machine with a cab, install the carriage bolt (1/4 x 3/4 inch), and locknut (1/4 inch) in the outer hole (Figure 5).

13. Install the tailgate assembly to the bed side assemblies using 2 shoulder bolts (5/16 x 1-1/2 inches) and 2 flange nuts (5/16 inch) as shown in Figure 12. g253987 Figure 10 Left side shown 1. Flange nut (5/16 inch) 12. g244722 Figure 12 Secure each bed side assembly in the stake pockets using 4 hex-head bolts (5/16 x 2-1/2 inches), 4 flat washers (5/16 inch), and 4 flange nuts (5/16 inch) as shown in Figure 11.

14. Install the 2 tailgate lanyards to the tailgate assembly using 4 shoulder bolts (5/16 x 1/2 inch) and 4 flange nuts (5/16 inch) as shown in Figure 13. 15. Install the 2 anti-rattle tailgate plugs into the tubes in the tailgate assembly (Figure 14). Important: Center the plug in the tailgate assembly tube and trim off the flat end of the plug so that it is flush with the plug body (Figure 14). g244745 Figure 14 Left side shown 1.
