Subject: Deformed and Cracked Seat Base
The seat base may deform over time and cause the fender to separate from the
mounting surface. Reinforcement Plate (107-7952-03) is now available and may be
added to the inside of the seat base to draw the area flat. Even if some damage to the
seat base is present, the clamping force of the assembly and the remaining integrity of
the seat base will be sufficient to salvage the seat base. Screw (3250-23) is suggested
to replace the existing screws, as it is slightly longer to accommodate the thickness of
the added plate and eases assembly of the warped parts. The picture below highlights
the area involved.
