Subject: Rear Wheels May Loosen.
Some rear wheels have been found to loosen at the Stub Axle (93-7090-03). The
Flange Lock Nuts (32128-53) can become loose through normal operation of the
vehicle. This condition can allow the Stub Axle and wheel assembly to come loose from
the End Yoke (92-4190) of the Driveshaft Assembly (98-2918).
The parts noted below are now available to improve the retention of the assembly.
Stub Axle 105-1717
Screw- HFH 105-1763
Nut 105-1764
Hardened Washer 104-9216.
When installing these parts, torque the bolt/nut assembly to 225 ft.lbs (305 Nm)* with
the Nut located on the wheel side of the Stub Axle assembly. This improved Stub Axle
Assembly is currently available through your local Toro Commercial Products
Distributor, one of each part specified is required per rear wheel on the 3000/4000
Series Workman vehicle.
* Caution: Many air impact wrenches do not exceed 100 ft.lbs.(136 Nm) torque capacity.
