AddingFuel
Theenginerunsonclean,freshdieselfuelwith
aminimumcetaneratingof40.Purchasefuelin
quantitiesthatyoucanusewithin30daystoensure
fuelfreshness.
Usesummer-gradedieselfuel(No.2-D)at
temperaturesabove-7°C(20°F)andwintergrade
dieselfuel(No.1-DorNo.1-D/2-Dblend)below
-7°C(20°F).Useofwinter-gradedieselfuelatlower
temperaturesprovideslowerashpointandpourpoint
characteristics,allowingeasierstartsandlessening
thechancesofchemicalseparationofthefueldueto
lowertemperatures.
Usingsummer-gradedieselfuelabove-7°C(20°F)
contributestowardlongerlifeofthefuel-pump
components.
Important:Neverusekeroseneorgasolinein
placeofdieselfuel.Failuretoobservethiscaution
willdamagetheengine.
FillingtheFuelTank
Fuel-tankcapacity:26.5L(7USgallons).
1.Cleantheareaaroundthefuel-tankcap.
2.Removethefuel-tankcap(Figure12).

15secondsbeforeusingthemachine.
Note:Allowmoretimefortheenginetowarmup
whenoperatingincoldtemperatures.
Varythemachinespeedduringoperation.Avoid
faststartsandquickstops.
Abreak-inoilfortheengineisnotrequired.
Originalengineoilisthesametypespeciedfor
regularoilchanges.
RefertoMaintenance(page23)foranyspecial,
low-hourchecks.
Checkthefrontsuspensionpositioningandadjust
it,ifnecessary;refertoAdjustingtheFrontWheel
Alignment(page39).
