ServiceInterval:Every100hours
Whenperformingroutinemaintenanceand/orengine
diagnostics,thetransaxlemustbeshiftedinto
NEUTRAL(Figure48).ThemachinehasaNEUTRAL
positionontheshiftlever,whichcontrolstheneutralin
thetransaxle.Performthefollowingstepstoensure
thattheneutralshiftleveroperatesthetransaxle
neutralcorrectly:
1.SettheshiftleverintotheNEUTRALposition.
2.EnsurethattheneutralbracketisintheNEUTRAL
position(leveltothecablemountingbracket
locatedbelowtheshiftbracket)byturningthe
drivenclutch(Figure48).
Note:Themachineshouldnotrollbackand
forth.Ifitdoes,manuallymovetheneutral
brackettotheNEUTRALposition.

ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Clutchoperationshouldbemonitoreddailyforproper
shifting.Ifshiftingisstickyorsluggish,ortheclutch
doesnotreturncompletelytoneutralwhenidling,the
clutchrequiresasimplecleaning.
Note:Focusdebrisremovalinandaroundmoving
parts.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,shutofftheengine,andremove
thekey.
2.Raiseandsecurethecargobed.
3.Removedirtandmudbuildupontheclutch
withwateranddrytheclutchimmediatelywith
compressedairtoremoveexcesswaterand
debris.
Note:Remainingdebrismayberemovedusing
afast-dryingcontactcleaner.
