Subject: Circuit Breaker For Electric Bed Lift
Situation: The fuse that protects the electrical circuit for the Electric Bed Lift is
located in the fuse block mounted to the inside frame rail, under the bed.
In the event of an electrical short or high amperage draw the Buss type
fuse will open. This can occur when the bed is in a position where access
to the fuse box panel for fuse replacement is limited. The Rear Bed would
then have to be manually unloaded, the Electric Bed Lift actuator
disconnected, and then tilted to gain access to the fuse block panel.
Important:
Overloading the machine beyond bed capacity can also cause the fuse to
open due to high amperage draw when attempting to lift the cargo bed.
Correction: A Circuit Breaker (99-7431) may be installed in place of the existing fuse.
This Circuit Breaker resets approximately 10 seconds after encountering
an-over amperage condition, eliminating the need to replace fuses.
If the circuit breaker continues to reset itself there may be a fault within the
circuit that should be repaired.
