Subject: Flatbed Side Kit strengthening improvements.
Overloading a Flatbed with material may cause the Flatbed Side Kit to bow out, deforming the
latch area and making it difficult to close and latch the tailgate.
Changes have been made to the Full Area Flatbed Side Kit to reduce the effects of bowing out
due to overload conditions. The stronger side kit can be identified by the "L" shaped
reinforcement brackets located at the rear of the side panels. To be able to use the stronger
side kit on a Full Area Flatbed (07301) with a serial number prior to 50001, modifications will
need to be made as highlighted on the attached instructions. Flatbed kits after this serial
number accept the new side kit without modification. Installation instructions have been
included with this bulletin for your reference.
