Keepthetopofthebatterycleanbywashingit
periodicallywithabrushdippedinammoniaor
bicarbonateofsodasolution.Flushthetopsurface
withwateraftercleaning.Donotremovethellcap
whilecleaning.
Ensurethatthebatterycablesarekepttightonthe
terminalstoprovidegoodelectricalcontact.
Ifcorrosionoccursatterminals,removethebattery
cover,disconnectthecables(negative(–)cablerst),
andscrapetheclampsandterminalsseparately.
Reconnectthecables(positive(+)cablerst)and
coattheterminalswithpetroleumjelly.
Maintaincellelectrolytelevelwithdistilledor
demineralizedwater.Donotllthecellsabovethe
bottomofthellringinsideeachcell.
Ifyoustorethemachineinalocationwhere
temperaturesareextremelyhigh,thebatterywillrun
downmorerapidlythanifthemachineisstoredina
locationwheretemperaturesarecool.
