Situation:
Some Workman HDX products may experience issues with the misapplication of 4WD while operating
under certain conditions. Complaints reported include driveline bind (the inappropriate application of 4WD
typically during backing up and turning maneuvers) and issues where the front wheels do not engage at
the same time as the rear wheels, resulting in rear tire spin and turf damage. 4WD Sensor Kit 137-2795
has been developed to address these complaints. This kit adds a switching circuit to control power to the
front differential solenoid to address driving situations where driveline bind or tire spin can occur.
Note: Front wheel bind may be present in the current design and classified as normal when
operating on dry pavement. (i.e. normal system as built today) when wheel slip is sensed.
Example: Tight turn while on dry pavement with heavy load.
Instructions:
Install 4WD Sensor Kit 137-2795 to address 4WD and Differential bind issue. This new kit will take the
place of previously installed 4WD kits. Previously installed 4WD kits must be removed. When complete,
only the latest 137-2795 kit shall be installed on these units.
The new 4WD design incorporates:
• On / Off rocker switch to arm the 4WD system in forward travel.
• Push button on center console to allow 4WD engagement in forward and reverse
regardless of rocker switch position. (On Demand)
Perform the attached Installation Instructions 3417-794 REV A to address front wheel bind & tire spin
conditions.
