Installation 1 Preparing to Install the Kit No Parts Required Procedure 1. Move the machine to a level surface and set the parking brake. 2. For machine models with a utility bed, perform the following: Figure 2 1. Bed support A. Raise the bed until the lift cylinders are fully extended; refer to the Operator’s Manual for the machine. 3 Installing the PTO Cable No Parts Required Routing the PTO Cable 1. Route the PTO cable under the rear of the lever support bracket. Figure 7 1. Nut 3. Lever-support bracket 2. Bolt 4. Spacer 2. Connect the PTO cable clevis to the hole in PTO lever with a clevis pin and a cotter pin (Figure 9). 7. Remove the spacer (Figure 7) from the assembly and install the new PTO lever in it’s place on the pivot tube. Note: Position the lever as shown in Figure 8. Figure 9 3. Clevis pin 2. Connecting the PTO Cable Important: Accomplish the installation steps in Connecting the PTO Cable (page 5) only when installing the kit on a machine with a serial number prior to 239999999; otherwise skip to 4 Installing the PTO to the Transaxle (page 6). Note: Some of the parts required to install this kit on machines with serial numbers prior to 239999999 are not included in the kit, but are listed in the parts catalog. 1. Remove all of the knobs from the center console levers (Figure 12). Figure 10 1.

5. Insert other end of the PTO lever cable through the opening in right side of the console and through the cable holder in the rear of the console (Figure 14). 4 Note: Route the cable, along the existing cables to the cable bracket mounted at front left corner of the transaxle. Installing the PTO to the Transaxle No Parts Required Removing the Transaxle Cover Plate Note: The remaining steps pertain to installing the kit on all vehicles unless otherwise specified. 1.

Note: Make sure hose and fitting are clean before connection is made. 4. Move the PTO lever at the center console all the way back (towards the rear of the console) and the PTO lever arm (Figure 19) on the transaxle to the right side (passenger side). Figure 17 2. Fitting 1. PTO 4. Remove the 5 bolts, lock washers and nut that secure the cover plate to the transaxle and carefully remove cover plate to prevent damaging the O–ring seal (Figure 17) . Note: Retain fasteners for installation later.

Operation 10. Apply the warning decal to lower-rear cross tube next to existing decal, just above hitch point (Figure 21). WARNING The vehicle may move unexpectedly if PTO is engaged and vehicle is shifted into gear, possibly resulting in serious injury to a bystander. • Do not shift transmission into gear until PTO attachment has stopped rotating, even if the clutch is depressed. • Make sure no person is around the PTO output shaft or the front or rear of vehicle. Mobile PTO Operation 5. Slowly release the clutch pedal. To stop the PTO operation, fully depress clutch pedal and shift PTO lever to Disengage position. Important: When operating the PTO, the machine must not be moving when PTO is started. Note: You may stop the PTO momentarily by fully depressing the clutch pedal and allowing transaxle and PTO to come to a complete stop. 1. Set the parking brake. 2. Shift the transmission into the Neutral position. 3.
