3.Movetheremotechoke-controlleverforwardto
theCLOSEDposition.
4.Pullrmlyonthechokecable(Figure39)until
thechokebutteryiscompletelyclosed;then
tightenthecable-clampscrew.
AdjustingtheEngine-Governor
SpeedControl
Important:Beforeyouadjusttheengine-governor
speedcontrol,ensurethatthethrottleandchoke
controlsareadjustedproperly.
WARNING
Theenginemustberunningduring
adjustmentoftheengine-governorspeed
control.Contactwithmovingpartsorhot
surfacesmaycausepersonalinjury.
Ensurethatthetractionpedalisinneutral
andengagetheparkingbrakebefore
performingthisprocedure.
Keepyourhands,feet,clothing,andother
bodypartsawayfromanyrotatingparts,
themufer,andotherhotsurfaces.
Note:T oadjustthelowidle,useallthefollowing
steps.Ifonlythehighidleistobeadjusted,proceed
directlytostep5.
1.Starttheengineandletitrunathalfthrottlefor
approximately5minutestowarmup.
2.MovethethrottlecontroltotheSLOWsetting.
Adjusttheidlestopscrewcounterclockwiseuntil
itnolongercontactsthethrottlelever.
3.Bendthegovernedidlespringanchortang
(Figure40)toattainanidlespeedof1,675to
1,175rpm.
