InspectingandCleaning
theSpiker
Whenthespikingoperationiscompleted,cleanthe
machinethoroughly.Sincethismachineisused
primarilyinsand,andsandisextremelyabrasive,
thesandshouldbeushedoffaftereachuse.Ifthe
machineiscleanedfrequently,(beforethesandhasa
chanceto"cake"),itcanbecleanedwithastreamof
waterfromahosewiththenozzleremoved.
Important:Donotusepressurizedwatertoclean
themachine;ahighpressurestreamcoulddrive
sandorothermaterialintowearareaswhereit
couldactasagrindingcompound.
Note:Iftheattachmentadapterbecomesstuckto
thetractionunitadapter,insertaprybar/screwdriver
intothepryslottodisengagetheparts

OperatingTips
Beforebeginningthespikingoperationwiththe
attachment,ndaclearareaandpracticestarting,
stopping,raising,lowering,andspiking.This
trainingperiodwillbebenecialtotheoperator
ingainingcondenceintheperformanceofthe
spiker.
Maintainastraightlinewhenspiking.Donotturn
whenthespikingbladesareintheground.
Operatethetractionunitataslow,constantground
speedtoachieveauniformspikingpattern.
Whentheedgeofthegreenisreached,raisethe
spikerbeforeturningorstopping.Thespikermust
beraisedcompletelybeforemakingturns.Survey
thegreentodetermineifthereareanyobstacles
thatwillbedamagedorwillresultindamageto
thespikersuchassprinklerheadsandprotruding
objects.
Adjustthegroundpenetrationbyregulatingthe
lift/lowervalveandcomparingittothespikerdepth
gauge.
AVariableOriceKitisavailableforne
adjustmentofthegroundpenetration.
