theengineairintakescreen.
StartingandStoppingthe

StartingtheEngine
1.Releasethetractionlever(bail)andsettheparking
brake.
2.MovethechokecontroltotheOnpositionbefore
startingacoldengine.
Note:Awarmorhotenginemaynotrequire
choking.Aftertheenginestarts,movethechoke
controltotheRunposition.
3.MovethethrottlecontroltotheFastposition
beforestartingacoldengine.
4.Turntheignitionkeytostart.Whentheengines
starts,releasethekey.
Important:Donotengagethestarterformore
than10secondsatatime.Iftheenginefails
tostart,allowa30secondcool-downperiod
betweenattempts.Failuretofollowthese
instructionscanburnoutthestartermotor.
5.Aftertheenginestarts,movethechoketotheOff
position.Iftheenginestallsorhesitates,movethe
chokebacktotheOnpositionforafewseconds.
Thenmovethethrottlelevertodesiredsetting.
Repeatthisasrequired.
StoppingtheEngine
1.MovethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition.
2.Lettheengineidlefor60seconds.
3.TurntheignitionkeytotheOffpositionand
removethekey.
4.Closethefuelshutoffvalvebeforetransportingor
storingtheaerator.
Important:Ensurethatthefuelshutoffvalve
isclosedbeforetransportingonatraileror
storingtheaerator,asfuelleakagemayoccur.
Settheparkingbrakebeforetransporting.
Makesuretoremovethekeyasthefuelpump
mayrunandcausethebatterytolosecharge.
Childrenorbystandersmaybeinjuredifthey
moveorattempttooperatetheaeratorwhile
itisunattended.
Alwaysremovetheignitionkeyandset
theparkingbrakewhenleavingtheaerator
unattended,evenifjustforafewminutes.
