1.Settheparkingbrakeandturntheignitionkeyto
off.Removesparkplugwire.Removethekey.
2.Removegrass,dirt,andgrimefromtheexternal
partsoftheentiremachine,especiallytheengine
andhydraulicsystem.Cleandirtandchafffromthe
outsideoftheengine’scylinderheadnsandblower
housing.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner.
4.Changethecrankcaseoil;refertoChangingthe
EngineOilandFilter.
5.ChangethehydraulicltersandFluid,referto
ChangingtheHydraulicFluidandFilters.
6.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingtheTire
Pressure.
7.Checktheconditionofthetines.
8.Ifyouwillbestoringthemachineformorethan30
days,prepareitasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthebattery
postsandremovethebatteryfromthemachine.
B.Cleanthebattery,terminals,andpostswitha
wirebrushandbakingsodasolution.
C.Coatthecableterminalsandbatterypostswith
Grafo112Xskin-overgrease(ToroPartNo.
505-47)orpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosion.
D.Slowlyrechargethebatteryevery60daysfor24
hourstopreventleadsulfationofthebattery.To
preventthebatteryfromfreezing,makesureit
isfullycharged.Thespecicgravityofafully
chargedbatteryis1.265to1.299.
Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthatcan
explode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparks
andamesawayfromit.
E.Eitherstorethebatteryontheshelforonthe
machine.Leavethecablesdisconnectedifit
isstoredonthemachine.Storeitinacool
atmospheretoavoidquickdeteriorationofthe
chargeinthebattery.
F.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditionerto
fuelinthetank.Followmixinginstructionsfrom
stabilizermanufacture.Donotuseanalcohol
basedstabilizer(ethanolormethanol).
