Pre-Maintenance
Procedures
Important:Thefastenersonthecoversofthis
machinearedesignedtoremainonthecover
afterremoval.Loosenallthefastenersoneach
coverafewturnssothatthecoverisloosebut
stillattached,thengobackandloosenthem
untilthecovercomesfree.Thispreventsyou
fromaccidentallystrippingtheboltsfreeofthe
retainers.
LiftingtheMachine
CAUTION
Ifthemachineisnotproperlysupportedby
blocksorjackstands,themachinemaymove
orfall,whichmayresultinpersonalinjury.
•Whenchangingattachments,tires,or
performingotherservice,usethecorrect
blocks,hoists,andjacks.
•Makesurethatthemachineisparkedon
asolid,levelsurfacesuchasaconcrete
oor.
•Priortoraisingthemachine,removeany
attachmentsthatmayinterferewiththe
safeandproperraisingofthemachine.
•Alwayschockorblockwheels.Usejack
standsorsolidwoodblockstosupportthe
raisedmachine.
JackingtheFrontEnd
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremove
thekey.
2.Chockthereartirestopreventthemachinefrom
moving.
Important:Topreventwheelmotordamage,
donotusethefrontwheelmotorasajacking
point.
3.Positionthejacksecurelyunderthefrontofthe
frame(Figure38).

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremove
thekey.
2.Chockthefronttiretopreventthemachinefrom
moving.
Important:Topreventwheelmotordamage,
donotuserearwheelmotorasajacking
point.
3.Placethejacksecurelyundertheframeplate
justinsideoftherearwheel(Figure39).
