1.Carefullyslidethefoampre-lterontothepaper
lter(Figure43).
2.Placetheaircleanerassemblyontotheair
cleanerbase(Figure41).
3.Installthecover,spacerandsecureitwiththe
covernut(Figure41).Torquethenutto11N∙m
(95in-lb).
4.Installtheaircleanercoverandsecurewiththe
knob(Figure41).

Important:Donotoverllthecrankcasewithoil
becausethismaycauseenginedamage.
Donotruntheenginewithoilbelowthelowmark
becausetheenginemaybedamagedasaresult.
Note:Thebesttimetochecktheengineoiliswhen
theengineiscoolbeforeithasbeenstartedforthe
day.Ifithasalreadybeenrun,allowtheoiltodrain
backdowntothesumpforatleast10minutesbefore
checking.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremove
thekey.
2.Cleanaroundtheoildipstick(Figure45)sodirt
cannotfallintothellerholeanddamagethe
engine.

untilitisfullyseated(Figure45).
4.Removethedipstickandchecktheoillevel.
Theoillevelshouldbebetweenthe“F”fulland
“L”lowmarksonthedipstick(Figure45).
5.Iftheoillevelisbelowthe“L”lowmark,remove
thellertubecap(Figure45)andaddthe
speciedoiluntilthelevelreachesthe“F”full
markonthedipstick.
6.Installtheoilllcapanddipstick.

Crankcasecapacity:approximately1.9L(2.0US
qt)withthelter.
1.Starttheengineandletitrunfor5minutes.This
warmstheoilsothatitdrainsbetter.
2.Parkthemachinesothatthedrainsideisslightly
lowerthantheoppositesidetoensurethat
theoildrainscompletely,shutofftheengine,
engagetheparkingbrake,andremovethekey.
3.Placeapanbelowtheoildrain.Removetheoil
drainplugtoallowoiltodrain.
