1.MovethethrottlelevertotheSlowposition.
2.Lettheengineidlefor60seconds.
3.TurntheignitionkeytotheOffpositionandremove
thekey.
4.Closethefuelshutoffvalvebeforetransportingor
storingtheaerator.
Important:Ensurethatthefuelshutoffvalveis
closedbeforetransportingonatrailerorstoring
theaerator,asfuelleakagemayoccur.Setthe
parkingbrakebeforetransporting.Makesureto
removethekeyasthefuelpumpmayrunand
causethebatterytolosecharge.
CAUTION
Childrenorbystandersmaybeinjuredifthey
moveorattempttooperatetheaeratorwhile
itisunattended.
Alwaysremovetheignitionkeyandset
theparkingbrakewhenleavingtheaerator
unattended,evenifjustforafewminutes.
TheSafetyInterlockSystem
CAUTION
Ifsafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnectedor
damagedtheaeratorcouldoperateunexpectedly
causingpersonalinjury.
Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlockswitches
dailyandreplaceanydamagedswitchesbefore
operatingtheaerator.

Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtopreventtheengine
fromstartingunlessthetractionbailisintheneutralposition.
TestingtheSafetyInterlockSystem
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Testthefollowing:
Theenginemustonlycrankwhenthetractionleverisin
theneutralposition.
Ifthetractionleverisreleasedormovedtotheneutral
position,thecoringheadshouldraiseandstoprotating.
Ifthesafetysystemdoesnotoperateasdescribedabove,have
anAuthorizedServiceDistributorrepairthesafetysystem
immediately.
InstallingtheServiceLatches
Installtheservicelatchesbeforeperformingserviceonthe
coringheadorwhenstoringthemachineformorethana
coupleofdays.
DANGER
Anytimethecoringheadistobeserviced,including
changingoftinesorturfguards,installtheservice
latchtosecureheadintheraisedpositiontoprevent
themfromloweringandinjuringyouorbystanders.
1.Raisethecoringhead.
2.Removetheclipringsecuringtheservicelatchinthe
storageposition(Figure20).
