wipethesurfaceofthelteradaptergasket.
8.Pournewoilofthepropertypethroughthecenter
holeofthelter.Stoppouringwhentheoilreaches
thebottomofthethreads.
9.Allowaminuteortwofortheoiltobeabsorbedby
ltermaterial,thenpourofftheexcessoil.
10.Applyathincoatofnewoiltotherubbergasketon
thereplacementlter.
11.Installthereplacementoilltertothelteradapter.
Turntheoillterclockwiseuntiltherubbergasket
contactsthelteradapter,thentightenthelteran
additional1/2turn.
12.Removetheoilllcapandslowlypourapproximately
80%ofthespeciedamountofoilinthroughthe
valvecover.
13.Checktheoillevel;refertoCheckingtheEngineOil
Level.
14.SlowlyaddadditionaloiltobringtheleveltotheF
(full)markonthedipstick.
15.Replacethellcap.
ServicingtheSparkPlugs
ServiceInterval:Every200hours—Checkthesparkplugs.
Ensurethattheairgapbetweenthecenterandsideelectrodes
iscorrectbeforeinstallingeachsparkplug.Useasparkplug
wrenchforremovingandinstallingthesparkplugsanda
gappingtool/feelergaugetocheckandadjusttheairgap.
Installnewsparkplugsifnecessary.

RemovingtheSparkPlugs
1.Stoptheengine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethe
key.
2.Pullthewiresoffofthesparkplugs(Figure49).

4.Removebothsparkplugsandmetalwashers.
CheckingtheSparkPlugs
1.Lookatthecenterofbothsparkplugs(Figure50).If
youseelightbrownorgrayontheinsulator,theengine
isoperatingproperly.Ablackcoatingontheinsulator
usuallymeanstheaircleanerisdirty.
Important:Nevercleanthesparkplugs.Always
replacethesparkplugswhentheyhaveablack
coating,wornelectrodes,anoilylm,orcracks.
