disconnect
thenegative(black)battery
cablebeforedisconnectingthepositive(red)
cable.

connect
thepositive(red)batterycable
beforeconnectingthenegative(black)cable.
Ifcorrosionoccursattheterminals,disconnectthecables
(negative(–)cablerst)andscrapeclampsandterminals
separately.Reconnectthecables(positive(+)cablerst)and
coattheterminalswithpetroleumjelly.
WARNING
Batteryterminalsormetaltoolscouldshortagainst
metaltractorcomponentscausingsparks.Sparks
cancausethebatterygassestoexplode,resulting
inpersonalinjury.
Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthemachine.
Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetween
thebatteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthe
machine.
Fuses
Theelectricalsystemisprotectedbyfuses(Figure52).It
requiresnomaintenance;however,ifafuseblows,checkthe
component/circuitforamalfunctionorshort.
1.Toreplacefuses,pulloutonthefusetoremoveit.
2.Installanewfuse.
