Pushing/PullingtheAerator

Important:Nevertowtheaeratorfasterthan1
MPHbecausehydrauliccomponentdamagemay
occur.
1.Settheparkingbrake,turntheignitionkeytothe
Offposition,andremovetheignitionkey.
2.Locatetheby-passvalvebetweentheengineand
hydrostaticpump(
Figure30).
3.Usinga5/8inchwrench,rotatetheby-passvalve
counterclockwise1turn.Thisallowsthehydraulic
uidtoby-passthepumpenablingthewheelsto
turn(
Figure30).

morethan1turn.Thispreventsthevalvefrom
comingoutofthebodyandcausinguidto
runout.
Important:Donotpush/pulltheaerator
morethan100ftorfasterthan1MPHbecause
hydrauliccomponentdamagemayoccur.
4.Disengagetheparkingbrakebeforepushing/pulling.
Important:Donotoperateenginewiththe
by-passvalveopenformorethan10–15seconds.
5.Tooperatetheaeratoragain,rotatetheby-pass
valveclockwise1turn(
Figure30).
Note:Donotovertightentheby-passvalve.
Note:Theaeratorwillnotdriveunlesstheby-pass
valveisturnedclosed.Donottrytooperate
tractionsystemwiththeby-passopen.
ResettingtheSystemControl
Circuit
Ifthecoringheadiseverleftintheaeratingposition
(runoutoffuel,forgettoinstallservicelatchfor
storage,mechanicalfailureofengine/pump,etc.)the
electricalsystemthatcontrolsthehydraulicsolenoid
coilsandtheelectricclutchisdisabledtoprevent
unintendedmovementofthecoringheadwithoutthe
deliberateactionofresettingthesystem.
Toresetthesystemafterengineisstarted,pressthe
rockerswitch(
Figure31)toraisethecoringheadand
resettheelectricalcontrolcircuit.

Intheeventthattheenginefailsorcannotberestarted
withthecoringheadloweredandtinesareengagedin
thesoil,proceedasfollows:
1.Removethetineholdersfromthestomperarms.
2.Opentheby-passvalveoneturn.
3.Pull/pushtheaeratortoanearbylocationto
continueserviceorloadontoatrailer.
Important:Donotpull/pushaeratorformore
than100feetandnofasterthan1MPHbecause
hydraulicdamagemayoccur.
TransportingtheAerator
Useaheavy–dutytrailerortrucktotransportthe
aerator.Ensurethatthetrailerortruckhasallnecessary
lightingandmarkingasrequiredbylaw .Please
