AeratorControlModule(ACM)
TheAeratorControlModuleisapottedelectronic
deviceproducedinaonesizetsallconguration.The
moduleusessolidstateandmechanicalcomponents
tomonitorandcontrolelectricalfeaturesrequiredfor
safeproductoperation.

Themodulemonitorsinputsincludingheadlow,head
high,transport,aerate,andgroundfollowing.The
moduleisdividedintoinputsandoutputs.Inputs
andoutputsareidentiedbygreenLEDindicators
mountedontheprintedcircuitboard.Poweris
identiedbyaredLEDindicator.
Thestartcircuitinputisenergizedby12VDC.All
otherinputsareenergizedwhenthecircuitisclosed
toground.EachinputhasanLEDthatisilluminated
whenthespeciccircuitisenergized.Usetheinput
LED’sforswitchandinputcircuittroubleshooting.
Outputcircuitsareenergizedbyanappropriatesetof
inputconditions.ThethreeoutputsincludeSVL,SVR,
andSVQ.OutputLED’smonitorrelayconditions
indicatingthepresenceofvoltageatoneofthree
specicoutputterminals.
Outputcircuitsdonotdetermineoutputdevice
integrity,soelectricaltroubleshootingincludesoutput
LEDinspectionandconventionaldeviceandwire
harnessintegritytesting.Measuredisconnected
componentimpedance,impedancethroughwire
harness(disconnectatACM),orbytemporarilytest
energizingthespeciccomponent.
TheACMdoesnotconnecttoanexternalcomputeror
handhelddevice,cannotbereprogrammed,anddoes
notrecordintermittentfaulttroubleshootingdata.
ThedecalontheACMonlyincludessymbols.Three
LEDoutputsymbolsareshownintheoutputbox.All
otherLED’sareinputs.Thechartbelowidentiesthe
symbols.

2.MovethekeyswitchtotheOnpositionandensure
theredpowerLEDisilluminated.
3.MoveallinputswitchestoensureallLED’schange
state.
4.Positioninputdevicesattheappropriatepositionto
achievetheappropriateoutput.
5.IfspecicoutputLEDisilluminatedwithout
appropriateoutputfunction,checkoutputharness,
connections,andcomponent.Repairasrequired.
6.IfspecicoutputLEDisnotilluminated,check
bothfuses.
7.IfspecicoutputLEDisnotilluminatedandinputs
areinappropriatecondition,installnewACMand
determineiffaultdisappears.
