1.Settheparkingbrakeandturntheignitionkeyto
off.Removesparkplugwire.Removethekey.
2.Removegrass,dirt,andgrimefromtheexternal
partsoftheentiremachine,especiallytheengine
andhydraulicsystem.Cleandirtandchafffromthe
outsideoftheengine’scylinderheadnsandblower
housing.
3.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner.
4.Changethecrankcaseoil;refertoChangingthe
EngineOilandFilter.
5.ChangethehydraulicltersandFluid,referto
ChangingtheHydraulicFluidandFilters.
6.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingtheTire
Pressure.
7.Checktheconditionofthetines.
8.Ifyouwillbestoringthemachineformorethan30
days,prepareitasfollows:
A.Removethebatteryterminalsfromthebattery
postsandremovethebatteryfromthemachine.
B.Cleanthebattery,terminals,andpostswitha
wirebrushandbakingsodasolution.
C.Coatthecableterminalsandbatterypostswith
Grafo112Xskin-overgrease(ToroPartNo.
505-47)orpetroleumjellytopreventcorrosion.
D.Slowlyrechargethebatteryevery60daysfor24
hourstopreventleadsulfationofthebattery.To
preventthebatteryfromfreezing,makesureit
isfullycharged.Thespecicgravityofafully
chargedbatteryis1.265to1.299.
WARNING
Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthat
canexplode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeep
sparksandamesawayfromit.
E.Eitherstorethebatteryontheshelforonthe
machine.Leavethecablesdisconnectedifit
isstoredonthemachine.Storeitinacool
atmospheretoavoidquickdeteriorationofthe
chargeinthebattery.
F.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditionerto
fuelinthetank.Followmixinginstructionsfrom
stabilizermanufacture.Donotuseanalcohol
basedstabilizer(ethanolormethanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshgasolineand
usedatalltimes.
G.Runenginetodistributeconditionedfuelthrough
thefuelsystem(5minutes).
H.Stopengine,allowtocoolanddrainthefuel
tank;refertoDrainingtheFuelTank.
I.Restartengineandrunituntilitstops.
J.Choketheengine.Startandrunengineuntilit
willnotstart.
K.Disposeoffuelproperly.Recycleasperlocal
codes.
Important:Donotstore
stabilizer/conditionedgasolineover90
days.
9.Removethesparkplugsandcheckthecondition;
refertoServicingtheSparkPlugs.Withthe
sparkplugsremovedfromtheengine,pourtwo
tablespoonsofengineoilintoeachsparkplug
hole.Nowusethestartertocranktheengineand
distributetheoilinsidethecylinders.Installthespark
plugs.Donotinstallthewiresonthesparkplugs.
10.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repair
orreplaceanypartthatisdamagedordefective.
11.Washanddryentireunit.Removetines,cleanand
oil.Spraylightoilmistoncoringheadbearings
(crank&damperlinks).
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewith
milddetergentandwater.Donotpressure
washthemachine.Avoidexcessiveuseof
water,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,engine,
hydraulicpumpsandmotors.
Note:Runthemachinewiththeengineathighidle
for2to5minutesafterwashing.
12.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDistributor.
13.Secureservicelatchiftheaeratoristobestoredfor
morethanacoupledays.
14.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstorage
area.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchand
keepitoutofreachofchildrenorotherunauthorized
users.
15.Coverthemachinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.
