CAUTION

TheSafetyInterlockSystem

Ifsafetyinterlockswitchesaredisconnected
ordamagedtheaeratorcouldoperate
unexpectedlycausingpersonalinjury.
Donottamperwiththeinterlockswitches.
Checktheoperationoftheinterlock
switchesdailyandreplaceanydamaged
switchesbeforeoperatingtheaerator.
UnderstandingtheSafetyInterlock
System
Thesafetyinterlocksystemisdesignedtoprevent
theenginefromstartingunlessthetractionbailisin
theneutralposition.
TestingtheSafetyInterlock
System
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Testthefollowing:
Theenginemustonlycrankwhenthetraction
leverisintheneutralposition.
Ifthetractionleverisreleasedormovedtothe
neutralposition,thecoringheadshouldraiseand
stoprotating.
Ifthesafetysystemdoesnotoperateasdescribed
above,haveanauthorizedServicedistributorrepair
thesafetysystemimmediately.
UsingtheMachine
1.Starttheengine.
2.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
3.Lookinthedirectionofyourplannedpathto
ensurethatitisclear.
4.Movethetractionleverdowntodrivethe
machineforward.
Walkinaforwarddirectionwhileoperatingthe
machine,donotwalkandfacebackwardswhen
operatingthemachine.
5.EngagethePTOandlowerthecoringhead.
6.DisengagethePTOandraisethecoringhead.
7.Tostopthemachine,releasethetractionlever.
InstallingtheService
Latches
Installtheservicelatchesbeforeperformingservice
onthecoringheadorwhenstoringthemachinefor
morethanacoupleofdays.
DANGER
Anytimethecoringheadistobeserviced,
includingchangingoftinesorturfguards,
installtheservicelatchtosecureheadinthe
raisedpositiontopreventthemfromlowering
andinjuringyouorbystanders.
1.Raisethecoringhead.
2.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,shutoffthe
engine,engagetheparkingbrake,andremove
thekey.
3.Removetheclipringsecuringtheservicelatch
inthestorageposition(Figure21).
