In some instances, angling the aerator forward may
improve hole quality but will also reduce aeration depth
and gain clearance with the turf guards. A forward angle
of approximately 4_ is a good initial setting. Use a
magnetic based angle indicator to determine the forward
angle, or use the following procedure:
A. Position aerator on a flat level surface.
B. Make sure aerator roller is on the ground and depth
indicator is set at desired setting (Fig. 22).

C. Measure and record the distance from the ground
to the lower rear corner of the frame (“H1”) and
front corner of the frame (“H2”) (Fig. 23).

aerator (See Angle Chart below).
