CAUTION
Toavoidpersonalinjury,neverleavethe
tractorseatwithoutrstdisengagingthe
PTOdrive,settingtheparkingbrakeand
stoppingtheengine.Neverperformaerator
adjustmentsorrepairswithoutrstlowering
theaeratorontothesafetystand.Besureall
safetydevicesaresecuredinproperplace
beforeresumingoperation.
EngagethePTOatlowenginespeed.Increase
enginespeedtoachievePTOspeedof540rpm
(maximum)andtheloweraerator.Operateatan
enginerpmthattheaeratorrunsmostsmoothly.
Note:Changingengine/PTOrpminaparticular
tractorgear(orxedhydrostaticpedalposition
ontractorswithhydrostatictransmission)willnot
changeholespacing.
Makeverygradualturnswhenaerating.Never
makesharpturnswiththePTOdriveengaged.
Planyouraerationpathbeforeloweringthe
aerator.
Ifthetractor“bogs”downwhenoperatingonhard
groundorgoinguphill,raisetheaeratorslightly
untilthespeedisregained,thenlowertheaerator
again.
Donotaerateifthegroundistoohardordry.Best
resultsareobtainedafterarainorwhenturfhas
beenwateredthepreviousday.
Note:Iftherollerridesupoffthegroundwhile
aerating,thegroundistoohardtoachievethe
desireddepth;reducetheaerationdepthuntilthe
rollercontactsthegroundduringoperation.
Raisetheaeratorpenetrationifthegroundishard
packed.Cleanupcoresandaerateatdeeper
penetration,preferablyafterwatering.
TheProCore864aeratorisoffsettothetractor's
rightsidetoallowaeratingwithoutdrivingoverthe
coreswiththetractortires.Wheneverpossible,
aeratewiththelongeroffsettowardstheprevious
aerationpass.
Alwayscheck/adjustthetoplinkwheneveryou
changetheaerationdepth.Thefrontoftheaerator
shouldbevertical.
Lookbackwardfrequentlytoensurethatthe
machineisoperatingproperlyandalignmentis
maintainedwithpreviouspasses.
Alwayscleartheareaofalldamagedmachine
parts,suchasbrokentines,etc.,topreventthem
frombeingpickedupandthrownbymowersor
otherturfmaintenanceequipment.
Replacebrokentines,andinspectandcorrect
damagetothosestillusable.Repairanyother
machinedamagebeforecommencingoperation.

Keepallpartsofthemachineingoodworking
conditionandallhardwaretightened.
Replaceallworn,damaged,ormissingdecals.
TransportingtheMachine
Tobegintransportoperation,raisetheaeratorand
disengagethePTO.Toavoidlossofcontrol,traverse
steepinclinesslowly,approachroughareasat
reducedspeedandcrosssevereundulationscarefully.
Important:Donotexceedtransportspeedsof
24km/h(15mph).
CleaningtheMachineafter
Use
Afterdailyuse,thoroughlywashthemachinewitha
gardenhosewithoutanozzletoavoidcontamination
andsealandbearingdamageduetoexcessive
waterpressure.Youcanuseabrushtoremove
caked-onmaterial.Usemilddetergenttocleanthe
covers.Aftercleaning,greasealldrivelinesandroller
bearings,inspectformachinedamage,oilleakage,
andcomponentandtinewear.
Remove,clean,andoilthetines.Sprayalightoilmist
onthecoringheadbearings(crankanddamperlinks).
