4.Assemblethedamperassemblytothecoringhead
frameagain.EnsurethattheDwasherisinstalled
againstthecoringheadframeasshowninFigure26.
Securethe2locknuts.
Toseetheeffectsofthisadjustment,adjustonly3to
4assembliestocomparetheoriginalpositionandthe
newpositiononatrialpass.Whensatisfactoryresults
areachieved,movetheremainingassembliestothe
sameheightasthedesiredarms.
TransportingtheMachine
Tobegintransportoperation,raisetheaeratoranddisengage
thePTO.Toavoidlossofcontrol,traversesteepinclines
slowly,approachroughareasatreducedspeedandcross
severeundulationscarefully.
Important:Donotexceedtransportspeedsof24km/h
(15mph).
CleaningtheMachineafter
Use
Afterdailyuse,thoroughlywashthemachinewithagarden
hosewithoutanozzletoavoidcontaminationandsealand
bearingdamageduetoexcessivewaterpressure.Youcanuse
abrushtoremovecaked-onmaterial.Usemilddetergent
tocleanthecovers.Aftercleaning,greasealldrivelinesand
rollerbearings,inspectformachinedamage,oilleakage,and
componentandtinewear.
Remove,clean,andoilthetines.Sprayalightoilmistonthe
coringheadbearings(crankanddamperlinks).
OperatingTips
CAUTION
Toavoidpersonalinjury,neverleavethetractorseat
withoutrstdisengagingthePTOdrive,setting
theparkingbrakeandstoppingtheengine.Never
performaeratoradjustmentsorrepairswithoutrst
loweringtheaeratorontothesafetystand.Besure
allsafetydevicesaresecuredinproperplacebefore
resumingoperation.
•EngagethePTOatlowenginespeed.Increaseengine
speedtoachievePTOspeedof540rpm(maximum)and
theloweraerator.Operateatanenginerpmthatthe
aeratorrunsmostsmoothly.
Note:Changingengine/PTOrpminaparticulartractor
gear(orxedhydrostaticpedalpositionontractorswith
hydrostatictransmission)willnotchangeholespacing.
•Makeverygradualturnswhenaerating.Nevermake
sharpturnswiththePTOdriveengaged.Planyour
aerationpathbeforeloweringtheaerator.
•Ifthetractor“bogs”downwhenoperatingonhard
groundorgoinguphill,raisetheaeratorslightlyuntilthe
speedisregained,thenlowertheaeratoragain.
•Donotaerateifthegroundistoohardordry.Best
resultsareobtainedafterarainorwhenturfhasbeen
wateredthepreviousday.
Note:Iftherollerridesupoffthegroundwhileaerating,
thegroundistoohardtoachievethedesireddepth;
reducetheaerationdepthuntiltherollercontactsthe
groundduringoperation.
•Raisetheaeratorpenetrationifthegroundishard
packed.Cleanupcoresandaerateatdeeperpenetration,
preferablyafterwatering.
•TheProCore864aeratorisoffsettothetractor'sright
sidetoallowaeratingwithoutdrivingoverthecoreswith
thetractortires.Wheneverpossible,aeratewiththe
longeroffsettowardsthepreviousaerationpass.
•Alwayscheck/adjustthetoplinkwheneveryouchange
theaerationdepth.Thefrontoftheaeratorshouldbe
vertical.
•Lookbackwardfrequentlytoensurethatthemachine
isoperatingproperlyandalignmentismaintainedwith
previouspasses.
•Alwayscleartheareaofalldamagedmachineparts,such
asbrokentines,etc.,topreventthemfrombeingpicked
upandthrownbymowersorotherturfmaintenance
equipment.
•Replacebrokentines,andinspectandcorrectdamage
tothosestillusable.Repairanyothermachinedamage
beforecommencingoperation.
