1.Choppertip
2.Usingahacksaw,cutaslotintheshearedendofthe
boltandintothechoppertip(Figure38).Makesure
theslotisdeepenoughtoengageastraightbladed
screwdriver.
3.Aftercompletingtheslot,heattheshearedboltwitha
torchtosoftentheLoctite(Figure38).
4.OncetheLoctiteissoftened,threadtheshearedbolt
outofchoppertip(Figure38).
5.Wheninstallingusedornewchoppertips,alwaysuse
newboltswithapatchlockfeatureortreatthebolt
threadswithLoctite.
HighAltitudeOperation
Whenoperatinginhighaltitudesthecarburetorjetsmayhave
tobechangedtoobtainoptimumengineperformance.Use
thechartbelowtodeterminewhichcarburetorjetisrequired
fortheoperatingaltitude.Orderthecarburetorjetsfromyour
BriggsandStrattonDealer.
