•Batteryelectrolytelevelmustbeproperlymaintainedand
thetopofthebatterykeptclean.Ifthemachineisstored
inalocationwheretemperaturesareextremelyhigh,the
batterywillrundownmorerapidlythanifthemachineis
storedinalocationwheretemperaturesarecool.
DANGER
Batteryelectrolytecontainssulfuricacidwhich
isadeadlypoisonandcausessevereburns.
–Donotdrinkelectrolyteandavoidcontact
withskin,eyesorclothing.Wearsafety
glassestoshieldyoureyesandrubbergloves
toprotectyourhands.
–Fillthebatterywherecleanwaterisalways
availableforushingtheskin.
•Keeptopofbatterycleanbywashingperiodicallywith
abrushdippedinammoniaorbicarbonateofsoda
solution.Flushthetopsurfacewithwateraftercleaning.
Donotremovethellcapwhilecleaning.
•Batterycablesmustbetightonterminalstoprovidegood
electricalcontact.

Washhandsafterhandling.
•Ifcorrosionoccursatterminals,disconnectcables,
negative(-)cablerstandscrapeclampsandterminals
separately.Reconnectcables,positive(+)cablerstand
coatterminalswithpetroleumjelly.
•Checktheelectrolytelevelevery25operatinghoursor,if
machineisinstorage,every30days.
•Maintaincelllevelwithdistilledordemineralizedwater.
Donotllcellsabovellline.
•Ifmachinewillbestoredformorethan30days,remove
thebatteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstoreitontheshelf
onthemachine.Leavethecablesdisconnectedifstored
onthemachine.Storethebatteryinacoolatmosphere
toavoidquickdeteriorationofthechargeinthebattery.
Topreventbatteryfromfreezing,makesureitisfully
charged.Thespecicgravityofafullychargedbatteryis
1.250.

Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthatcan
explode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparksand
amesawayfrombattery.
WARNING
Batteryterminalsormetaltoolscouldshortagainst
metaltractorcomponentscausingsparks.Sparks
cancausethebatterygassestoexplode,resulting
inpersonalinjury.
•Whenremovingorinstallingthebattery,donot
allowthebatteryterminalstotouchanymetal
partsofthetractor.
•Donotallowmetaltoolstoshortbetweenthe
batteryterminalsandmetalpartsofthetractor.
