Pull the Chain without the Spring to the Tractor's frame member, rotating the pump slightly outstretch the Spring and apply some tension. Secure the Chain in place with a 3/8" x bolt, hex lock nut and two flat washers. See FIG.7. 1.
CONTROLS ANTI-SIPHON KIT: Install the “Anti-Siphon Kit* behind the Filler Lid in the top of the Chemical Tank. The kit is located inside the Chemical Tank of your Subsurface Injector. Follow the Setup Instructions provided in that kit. ELECTRIC BRAKE CONTROLLER: Operates in conjunction with the towing Tractor’s brakes to control the Subsurface Injector’s brakes.
CONTROLS 6. SPRAY INDICATOR LIGHT: Indicates when the Electric Ball Valve is on, providing pressure to the spray Nozzles. See FIG. 12. 7. AUTO/MANUAL BOOM SPRAY SWITCH: A. In the "AUTO" mode, the Nozzles begin to spray when the Blade Arms are fully engaged into the ground, the PTO Shaft is turning and the Chemical Tank is filled with liquid.” See FIG. 12 B. In the “OFF" position, the Nozzles will not spray. C. In the “MANUAL mods, the Nozzles begin to spray with or without the Blade Arms engaged. 8.
INITIAL MACHINE SETUP TOWING TRACTOR CONNECTION: NOTE: To achieve the desired quality of blade penetration, iris critical to properly set the Tongue Hitch height . With only the Ballast Tanks filled, configure the Subsurface Injector so that the Tongue Frame Tube is level when hitched to the towing Tractor. See FIG. 15, A CAUTION Accidental movement of the Subsurface Injector can cause personal injury.
INITIAL MACHINE SETUP 2. Remove the plastic plugs in the pressure and suction ports of the Diaphragm Pump. Retain plugs for later use to protect the Pump from debris during storage. 3. Connect the 1" Suction Hose to the suction port on the Diaphragm Pump at the back of the towing Tractor. See FIG. 17. FIG. t7 3. 3/4” Pressure Hose 1. Diaphragm Pump 2. 17 Suction Hose 4. Connect the 3/4” Pressure Hose to the reassure fort on the Diaphragm Spray Pump. ee FIG.17. 5.
INITIAL MACHINE SETUP 6. Fully retract the Cylinder, compressing the Springs and engaging the Blades into the ground. The tires should also be on the ground at this time. [f the Blades are not penetrating the turf enough for the Rollers to make contact with the ground, raise the Blade Arms, increase the tension on the Springs and reengage the Blades Arms. Gradually increase tension on the springs until the Rollers contact the ground. See FIG. 20. SHOWN WITH BLADES ENGAGED FiG. 20 5. Slicing Blades 6.
BEFORE OPERATING PER-STARTING CHECKS: Safe operation begins before taking the Subsurface Injector out for a day’s work. Refer to and follow the instructions in your Tractor's Operator’s Manual for all per-starting checks and safety precautions regarding the safe towing of implements. Check these items each time you begin work with the Subsurface Injector: 1. Lock Tractor's Brake Pedals together. See FIG. 21. WARNING Non-functioning brakes can cause loss of control resulting in serious injury or death.
BEFORE OPERATING TRACTOR SPEED CALCULATION: The pulling Tractor's RPM's must be set such that the Tractor's PTO Shaft maintains 540 RPM during operation. The ground speed of the Tractor, at this RPM and the selected gear range, must be determined in miles per hour or kilometers per hour to effectively calibrate the Spray System. IMPORTANT: Do not operate the Diaphragm Pump faster than 540 RPM. The Pump may be damaged.

Move the Subsurface injector to an area that will not be harmed by the spray streams and that is not covered with loose material. 2. Ensure the Tractor is in neutral with parking brake applied. Start the engine, set the throttle to provide 540 RPM at the PTO and engage the PTO Shaft. 3.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FILLING THE CHEMICAL TANKS: A caution Chemicals are hazardous and can cause personal injury. Carefully read and strictly follow the directions printed on the chemical manufacturer's container labels before handling or mixing chemicals. Keep spray material away from skin, It spray material comes in contact with the body, wash it off immediately with fresh water and detergent. Always wear goggles and other protective equipment as recommended by the chemical manufacturer.
