Front Brush/Scraper Kit
Greensmaster
3250-D
If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone
could accidently start the engine and seriously
injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect
the wire from the spark plug before you do any
maintenance. Set the wire aside so that it does not
accidentally contact the spark plug.
Caution
1. Loosen the screws securing each end of the roller shaft
to the front roller brackets (Fig. 1).
2. Remove the bolts and locknuts securing the left front
roller bracket to the side plate (Fig. 1).
3. Slide a clamp block onto each end of the roller shaft.
Position the clamp blocks so that the slot is up and the
threaded portion of the hole is rearward (Fig. 1).
4. Thread a nut onto each scraper rod.
5. Insert both scraper rods through the clamp blocks.
Loosely secure the scraper rods to the clamp blocks
with a nut (Fig. 1).
6. Partially thread a socket head screw into the front of
each clamp block (Fig. 1).
7. Install the roller and brush/scraper to the cutting unit
with the front roller bracket and fasteners previously
removed. Position the brush/scraper with the scraper to
the rear of the roller and the brush downward.
8. Level the front roller and set the height-of-cut; refer to
the Cutting Unit Operators Manual for adjustment
procedures.
9. Adjust the aggressiveness of the brush as follows:
For an aggressive setting, adjust the brush assembly
so that the bristles touch the adjusting gauge bar.
For a medium setting, adjust the brush assembly so
that it is midway between the adjusting gauge bar
and the cutting edge of the bedknife.
For a light setting, adjust the brush assembly so that
it is even with the cutting edge of the bedknife.
Note: To simplify the procedure, secure one end of the
brush assembly at a time.
10. Tighten the socket head screws securing the clamp
blocks to the roller shaft (Fig. 1).
11. Adjust the nuts on each scraper rod until there is a
clearance of approximately 1/32 in. (8 mm) between the
scraper and the roller. Make sure that the scraper is
parallel to the roller.
