Installation Instructions
If you leave the key in the ignition switch,
someone could accidently start the engine and
seriously injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect
the wire from the spark plug before you do any
maintenance. Set the wire aside so that it does not
accidentally contact the spark plug.
Caution
1. Loosen the screws securing each end of the roller shaft
to the front roller brackets (Fig. 1).
2. Remove the bolts and locknuts securing the left front
roller bracket to the side plate (Fig. 1).
3. Slide a clamp block onto each end of the roller shaft.
Position the clamp blocks so that the threaded hole is
on top and facing forward (Fig. 1).
4. Thread a nut onto each scraper rod.
5. Insert both scraper rods through the clamp blocks.
Loosely secure the scraper rods to the clamp blocks
with a nut (Fig. 1).
6. Partially thread a screw into the front of each clamp
block (Fig. 1).
7. Install the roller and scraper to the cutting unit with
the front roller bracket and fasteners previously
removed.
8. Level the front roller and set the height-of-cut; refer to
the Cutting Unit Operators Manual for adjustment
procedures.
9. Tighten the screws securing the clamp blocks to the
roller shaft (Fig. 1).
10. Adjust the nuts on each scraper rod until there is a
clearance of approximately 1/32 in. (0.8 mm) between
the scraper and the roller. Make sure that the scraper is
parallel to the roller.
