Replacing the pedal switch
Preparing the Vehicle
Position the machine on a level surface, stop the engine,
remove the key, and disconnect the negative (–) battery
terminal. Engage the parking brake.
If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone
could accidently start the engine and seriously
injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition switch before
you do any maintenance.
Caution
Replacing the Pedal Switch
1. If you have a floor mat, remove it from around the
accelerator and brake pedals.
2. Remove the metal plate on the floor surrounding the
pedals.
3. Remove switch from pedal box. If necessary, drill out
the rivets securing the switch to the pedal box.
4. Pull the switch and cabling out, away from the pedal
box.
5. Disconnect the faulty switch and discard.
6. Clean the connector from the cabling of any debris or
foreign material.
7. Slide the heat shrink tubing over the cabling.
8. Pack the new switch connector with electrical sealant
provided in the kit (Fig. 1).
