Installation Instructions

Accidental starting of the engine could seriously

injure you or other bystanders.

Remove the key from the ignition switch before

you do any maintenance.

Caution

1. Park the aerator on a level surface and engage the

parking brake.

2. Raise the coring head and install the service latch.

3. Stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition.

Note: The tines may be removed to simplify the

installation of the kit, but it is not required.

4. Remove the carriage bolts and nuts securing the the

turf guards to the turf guard brackets (Fig. 1). Remove

the turf guards from the brackets.

5. Unhook the extension springs from the turf guard

brackets (Fig. 1). Retain the springs for reinstallation.

6. Remove the capscrew and nut securing the depth adjustment tie rod and spacer to the L.H. turf guard bracket (Fig. 2). 7. Remove the (2) roll pins securing the turf guard shaft to the outer turf guard brackets (Fig. 1). 8. Pull the turf guard shaft out of the turf guard releasing the turf guard brackets, bushings and washers (Fig. 1). 9. Insert new bushings into the new turf guard brackets (2) and coring head frame (2). The bushings are keyed so make sure they are aligned properly when installing (Fig.

Install the turf guards and spring backing plates with (4) clamp brackets (Fig. 3).
