Installation Instructions
1. Position the machine on a level surface, lower the
cutting units, stop the engine, engage the parking
brake and remove the key from the ignition.
If you leave the key in the ignition switch,
someone could accidently start the engine and
seriously injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition switch before
you do any maintenance.
Caution
2. Remove the dipstick from the oil level guide (Fig. 1).
3. Remove and retain the screw securing the oil level
guide mounting strap to the side of the engine.
Remove and discard the oil level guide and the O–ring
from the engine. (Fig. 1).

Note: Make sure the O–rings are lubricated before
installation.
4. Install the oil level pipe and the O–ring to the engine
(Fig. 2).
5. Install the new oil level guide and the O–ring to the oil
level pipe (Fig. 2).
6. Secure the oil level guide mounting strap to the engine
with the screw previously removed (Fig. 2). Install the
dipstick into the oil level guide.

7. Remove the R–clamp securing the old breather hose to
the side of the engine. Remember the mounting hole
location. Also, remove the hose clip securing the hose
to the fitting on the rocker cover (Fig. 3). Discard the
R–clamp, screw and the breather hose.
